What's a drivetrain? I hear you ask. Well, it's all the components responsible for transmitting the power from the engine to the wheels. It consists of things like the clutch, gearbox, driveshafts, propshafts, wheel bearings, universal joints & differentials (a differential allows two wheels on the same axle to rotate at different speeds - e.g when cornering). From a gear oil change to new gearbox or clutch, we can diagnose and fix any of these for you.
Some engines have a cam belt (often called a timing belt), some have timing chains - both do the same job. They prevent the internal parts of the engine (valves and pistons to be precise) from colliding with each other. When a cambelt or timing chain breaks the resulting damage can be horrendously expensive so it pays to follow the manufacturers recommended change interval. If you are having to top the coolant up every few weeks than it's likely that you have a small leak. Modern cooling systems shouldn't really need topping up between services. At Motorvation we have all the tools and expertise required to diagnose and fix problems with your cooling system no matter whether it needs a radiator, water pump, heater matrix, thermostat or a simple hose. We can also help with choosing the right antifreeze. There are many different types now and getting the right one is very important as they can become corrosive when mixed.
